
Ingredients
200g chicken
3 tablespoons cornflour
1 egg, whisked
1/2 teaspoon Chinese five spice
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons plain flour
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
200g of mixed vegetables, for example:
- Bell peppers
- Red Onions
For the Sweet and Sour Sauce:
1 clove of garlic, finely chopped
1 piece of root ginger, finely chopped
1 x 227g tin of pineapple chunks and its juice
4 tablespoons ketchup
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon light soy sauce

Preparation
Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and coat in a the cornflour
Dredge the pieces in egg then cover in a mixture of the flour, chinese five spice, garlic powder and salt.Â
Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a wok or frying pan pan and fry the chicken until cripsy and golden. Remove from the pan when cooked.
Slice the peppers and red onions into chunks and fry for 10 minutes in the same pan that was used for the chicken
Meanwhile, for the sauce, combine the minced garlic, ginger, pineapple juice, ketchup, light soy sauce and sesame oil together.
Add the pineapple chunks and heat up then add the sauce to the pan and simmer until thickened.
Return chicken to the pan just before serving!
